Kendall Polster

Kendall Polster considers himself a self-taught artist as his last art class was in junior high school. He was working as a research biologist when he picked up welding as a hobby in his brother's shop. He then attended medical school, eventually leaving to pursue his art. His sculpting became an obsession, a compulsion, and he never returned to medical school.

Kendall spends half of his time welding pure sculpture and the other half welding artful furniture. He enjoys the challenges of both; being precise and exacting at times and at other times having no regard for measuring or planning. He likes the balance. All of Kendall’s sculptures utilize recycled scrap metal from the junkyard or waste from his furniture making. He prefers to let the individual interpret his works and apply their own meanings. “I WELD JUNK! It is that simple”, says Polster.

His works are sold in galleries throughout the United States and Paris, France. His work is in many private and corporate collections, Harley Davidson, Red Bull, and Johnson Controls to name a few.
