From large abstracts with beautiful line and color, to intimate and whimsical collages, Charlotte Foust chooses to create non-objective paintings because she finds the creative process to be honest and satisfying. A single mark or line on a blank surface provides Charlotte a starting point for an intuitive exploration of the visual language found in abstraction. Working in mixed media: graphite, acrylic and collage allows her to layer and rework textured surfaces. Each painting results in a delightful discovery of things unseen and the viewer gets to go on the journey with Charlotte as they view her works.
Charlotte earned her BFA from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, where she currently resides and operates her studio. Charlotte’s works have been shown in several museums in the Southeast and is in several corporate and private collections across the United States.
