Chase Langford is an established artist who was born in Pontiac, Michigan and grew up in Battle Creek and Jackson, Michigan before heading to California to study; he earned his BA in Geography from the University of California before studying life drawing, painting, and ceramics at the Brentwood Arts Center and the College of Marin in Los Angeles. He now lives and paints full time at his mountaintop home off of Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles. Chase is excited to be showing his work back in his home state.
Grounded in organic expression of the natural earth, his paintings finesse colors and reinterpret shapes in a process that reinvents geographic forms. His evolving experimental path that draws on his previous cartographic based paintings while bringing in new influences such as mid-century graphics, architecture, and landscapes recently traveled.
Chase’s paintings have been widely shown at solo and group exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York City, Washington DC, Montreal, Maui, and Palm Springs. His work is part of several corporate and public collections. He is also in private collections in North America, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, and Australia.
