Fritz Olsen

A graduate of Eastern Illinois University, Fritz Olsen first established his studio on Goose Island in Chicago in 1985. A decade later, he traded Chicago for the much quieter, rural countryside of Sawyer, Michigan. Working out of a beautifully restored 1930’s Azalia nursery just off the shores of Lake Michigan, Fritz operates his personal studio and sculpture gardens.

Fritz has been creating sculpture for over thirty years, using limestone, marble, cast bronze, and cut steel as frequent mediums. His work varies from small scale interior pieces to large scale work that often appears in public spaces. Utilizing his wide array of mediums, Fritz handcrafts beautiful pieces that range from kinetic and interactive to stationary and stoic, reminiscent of natural, organic shapes and the human form.

His work can be seen in public, private, and corporate collections all across the United States, Europe, and Japan.
